Free SelectaDNA Kits for Rural Businesses – Farming & Equestrian Events in October

Royston Rural Neighbourhood Team, in partnership with the Rural Operational Support Team, is offering free SelectaDNA property marking kits to rural businesses as part of our ongoing efforts to prevent burglary and acquisitive crime.

Police will be holding two dedicated events for the Royston / Baldock area:

Wednesday 1st October – Farming Community - 8am to 3pm 

Wednesday 8th October – Stable Yards & Equestrian Businesses - 3pm to 8pm

These kits are designed to help safeguard valuable equipment such as plant machinery, hand tools, tack, and other high-value items. Each kit, normally priced at £59.50, can mark up to 50 items and is being provided free of charge to eligible residents and businesses in targeted rural locations across the county.

Property marked with Selecta DNA will be less attractive to thieves knowing that the property is traceable and more difficult to sell on. The stolen property if recovered by Police will easily be returned to its rightful owner. 

If you would like to receive a kit officer will be able to attend your farm / stable yard. Please get in touch to book an appointment for either date. If those dates aren’t suitable, alternative arrangements may be possible depending on interest and operational needs.
